Wacked-out hormones?

Question: My daughter-in-law is up and down as far as her moodiness. Could this be because her hormones are all out of wack. What do you recommend?

Answer: Gloria,

It is possible her hormones are the cause; it’s equally possible it’s something else. Without a new patient visit, it would be impossible for me to guess at the cause or treatment. I am sure that wasn’t the answer you were looking for but it’s the best I can do with the data presented.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.

Response: Thank you, she recently had her 7th baby and I’m sure that could way into this also. Thank you for your time.

Gloria

Response back: Gloria,

My recommendation would be for her to find a DC, ND or MD that has experience in clinical nutrition and get her in for an evaluation. With 7 kids and all that entailed, there may be nutritional deficiency(s) and/or a mild endocrine(ovary/thyroid/adrenal/pituitary) imbalance that would benefit from nutritional supplementation and/or bio-identical hormone replacement.

Sincerely,

Marcus Ettinger DC, BSc.

  1. My recommendation is bioidentical hormones if she is in her late 30s or older. I have been taking them along with 2 other women from my yoga class and they have seriously changed my life for the better. We buy ours at XXXX because they are so economical and they do hormonal testing or you can buy over the counter transdermal creams. You just follow the directions on the label and adjust dosage as needed.
